1st XI Coaches Conference with Max Caldas

The Senior Coaching Conference will be led by Max Caldas, the current coach of the Dutch Men’s National Team.  This is suitable for coaches of school 1st XIs, both boys and girls, or for teachers who aspire to this position in the future.  It is an opportunity to understand current thinking from the very top of the international game, and to experience one of the world’s top coaches in action.

The morning session will be theory based, and illustrated by video.  Max will explain his philosophy of coaching, and the technical and tactical focus of his teams.  The afternoon will be a demonstration of practical coaching, using players from the host school.

Max Caldas
Max Caldas

Max is the current Head Coach of the Dutch men’s team.  He was previously Head Coach of the Dutch women's national team that won Gold at the 2012 Olympics, having been Assistant Coach when they won Gold at the previous Games in Beijing.  He also won gold at the inaugural Hockey World League in 2013. In June 2014 he won his third gold with the Dutch women at the Hockey World Cup in The Hague before becoming the Head Coach of the Men's team.  He was an Argentine International player,  competing in the 1996 and 2004 Olympics.
